Dominating the city, the Parador de Carmona, a majestic fort of the XIV Arab century, is only 30 km from the provinces chief town, Seville, famous for the splendid Giralda Tower, the cathedral, the Moorish Alcazar (Gold Tower), and the Museum of Fine Arts.
The ancient fort of King Don Pedro with a view of the Corbones valleys offers a scenic view from the pool and gardens. The fort also has a beautiful courtyard with a fountain that, just like all famous courtyards of the Alhambra of Granada, faces the Salon Cupulìn and the terrace. Many civilisations have contributed to the artistic culture of this imposing fort.
The rooms are spacious, bright and furnished with an exquisite taste that with their classical decoration, combined with Sevillian tiles, increases the value of this 14th-century fortress. The Salon Bermejo is characterized by valuable tapestries and antique items.
Then there’s the refectory, which was changed into a restaurant and recognized as one of the most beautiful of all Spanish Paradors. It offers delicious seasonal dishes of the region, including the famous partridge and cod fish dishes along with spicy spinach from Carmona.
